A couple of years ago we bought a small bungalow on the Intercoastal Waterway down here in Florida. Now it's time for a little renovation. The original 2 car garage was demo'd, and will be replaced with 1200 sf of air conditioned column-free space. The Z's new home has 12 ft ceilings to accommodate most types of lifts. Located around the ceiling perimeter are a dozen 18"x30" sheltered awning-type windows designed to promote flow through ventilation to aid in evacuating turbo engine heat when the garage doors are shut. On the left, a rear garage door opens onto a parking pad. The raised wood section is part of the old kitchen; and the block structure on the right is the shaft for an elevator up to the new second floor.
